RMI Launches Partnership With Disney MUSIC & Hollywood Records

Disney Music and DigiTour Media Co-Founders Launch RMI Recordings Label: Billboard Exclusive | The new label will sign 'digital-first' talent. (6/20/2017 by Andy Gensler)

Disney Music Group with Chris Rojas and Meridith Valiando Rojas, the co-founders of DigiTour Media, today announced the formation of their new label, RMI Recordings which will sign “digital-first” talent.

DigiTour Media, wihich was founded in 2010 by former music A&R executive Valiando Rojas and music producer Rojas, produces live experiences with social media stars geared towards Gen Z and Millennial audiences. The company produces concerts (DigiTours) and festivals (DigiFests) and has partnered with such brands as Coca-Cola, Verizon, State Farm, Iconix Brand Group, Invisalign, Intel and YouTube.

"It’s an honor to be working with Chris and Meridith, who are such creative entrepreneurs in the digital universe,” said Disney Music Group President, Ken Bunt in a statement. “They both have an astute understanding of how to connect with audiences around the world, and we are looking forward to building a label that serves that next generation of talent.”

Disney Music Group is home to Hollywood Records, Walt Disney Records, Disney Music Publishing, Buena Vista Records, and Disney Concerts. The labels’ rosters include Demi Lovato, Jordan Fisher, Sofia Carson, ZZ Ward, R5, Ocean Park Standoff and Breaking Benjamin among many others.

The deal also includes a publishing arm with multi-platinum producer/songwriter Chris Rojas, who has written and produced for P!nk, Flo-Rida, Backstreet Boysand Vanessa Hudgens among others. He most recently wrote and produced social media star Jacob SartoriusLast Text EP which debuted atop the iTunes chart.  He also co-produced the song for Coca-Cola’s #MakeItHappy digital SuperBowl spot featuring Jordin Sparks, Bea Miller and Victoria Justice.

Meridith Valiando Rojas is a former record and publishing A&R executive and music manager and an expert on Gen-Z and the digital generation.

Together the husband-and-wife team have produced over 300 live events for the teen market and helped to launch the careers of many artists.

DigiTour Media has raised $12.2 million in three rounds of funding including a $10 million round in 2015 led by Viacom with Lion Tree Partners and Slow Venture contributing, according to Crunchbase.

RMI Produces Jacob Sartorius Debut 'THE LAST TEXT EP'

RMI's Chris Rojas produces 6 of the 8 tracks on social media superstar Jacob Sartorius' debut EP. Chris arranged the one week writing camp with a-list topliners which delivered 10 songs in 7 days for the project. The EP is set to release on January 20th, 2017. Chris Rojas co-produces Coca-Cola commercial spot featuring Jordin Sparks, Bea Miller, Victoria Justice, Ryan Seacrest and more including Jack&Jack, Christian Collins, Nolan Gould from Modern Family, and Brent Rivera. The #MakeItHappy campaign aims to shine a light on cyber-bullying and making the internet a happier place. Vocals were recorded at East West Studios (Hollywood, California) in Studio #3, where the original 'Come On Get Happy' was recorded as the theme song for "The Partridge Family".
